We return to the body to remember what presence feels like.
My Story
Movement has always been close to me. Before I had words for anything, I was already saying it through my body: gymnastics, dance, athletics, all three woven through my childhood. It was never just something I did. It was how I understood the world, and how the tactile world understood me in return.
Into young adulthood, movement constants like dance and running stayed with me. Quiet companions, through all the changes that young adulthood brings.
I kept journals. pages and pages, year after year - a quieter kind of expression. A way of paying attention, of feeling things fully and caring for whatever needed care.
In time, this led me into over 25 years of somatic work sitting alongside people as they find their way back into their own bodies, the way I once found my way into mine.
As my business evolved through the years, I observed something in the helping professions. So many spend their days caring for others, and very little caring for themselves.
That noticing is what brought The Moving Circle into being in 2017 - a place for the ones who hold everyone else, so they might have somewhere to be held too.
